IMPORTANT   I have read the rules and regulations of American Legion GEM Boys State.  I have pledged to my school faculty, my parents (Guardian) and my American Legion Post Commander that I will abide by these rules and regulations.  I am unmarried.  I understand that I may be required to submit with this application, a $25.00 personal registration, to help defray the registration costs.  I am a member of the junior class at my High School.

PARENT OR GUARDIAN:                              I have read the rules and regulations of the American Legion GEM Boys State and have read same to the applicant named herein.  I hereby certify that my unmarried son (or ward) agrees to comply with these rules and regulations and have authorized his signature to this application.  I further certify that I will be financially responsible in accordance with the law for any damage(s) that may be occasioned or participated in by my son (ward).

Applications are due by March 31, 2008.  Application and registration fees are Non-refundable after May 15th, 2008.

1.  I have read the rules and regulations of American Legion GEM Boys State.

2.  The unmarried applicant named on this form has assured me that he has read the rules and regulations and that he will abide by them.

3.  I have explained to this boy that many people have spent time, trouble, and resources to put on Boys State for his benefit.

4.  I have also explained to this boy that he has a responsibility to himself, his family, his school, his financial sponsor and to the sponsoring American Legion Post, to conduct himself like a gentleman and to abide by the rules and regulations of Boys State.

5.  This boy understands he will be expected to honor the U.S. Flag and the National Anthem according to custom.

6.  I will vouch for this boy.

7.  I have told him he will be required to pay $25.00 personal registration fee which is to be submitted along with this application.

8.  The delegate has been informed that to be excused on Friday evening following the graduation ceremonies, an early release form signed by the parent / guardian, granting permission for the delegate to leave early.  This from must be returned with the application.
